...a '57 gold top LP, a '59 Sunburst LP what looked to be a '56 or '57 Strat and an early vintage Lp Junior and Special...saw them all last night being played by Billy Squire as part of Ringo's All Star band. Truthfully, I didn't know what I was looking at but my buddy is fairly adept at recognizing these things. Squire rocked I think in part because he was playing before a home town crowd, and Ringo was great as well.

My buddy said after the show that we were looking at close to $1M in vintage guitars. I don't follow these things that closely...could this estimate be close to accurate?

I wouldn't say a million but a few hundred K a least. A few issues back
vintage guitar and a writeup on Squire & his guitars..good read.
His favorite old LP was stolen years ago and he's never got it back.

The right '59 burst in good condition could bump up in the near quarter-million dollar range by itself....

not a big billy squire fan, but props to him for a righteous collection and actually gigging them instead of keeping them in a glass case at home ... shows more guts than i'd probably have

Wow! I thought my buddy was exagerating...and maybe he was but it seems only a little. And I agree, props to Billy, who btw, I never really appreciated until last night, for bringing them out and playing them hard.

FWIW, they sounded great! But in the "looks" department, that award went to Sheila E. Man, she sure can beat those drums.

'59 Burst - $250k +
'57 Goltop - $100k +
'57 Strat - $75k +
Junior - $7k +
Special $5k +

That's nearly half a mil right there.

Billy Squier has always (at least since the 80s) used "vintage" gear. The cover of Don't Say No has the old Tele Custom with binding... There's another album which has him and a SC TV LP Special...
