saw it at http://www.gibsoncustom.com/
Looks pretty nice, and of course, available left-handed!! Maybe I will abandon my decision to learn righty after all :p !!
Some of this info is not new to this forum, so has anybody heard anything else about it?

I must not keep up with Elliot Easton enough because I don't remember him as being a big SG player.

There are a few threads over at the Les Paul forum about his signature SG, Elliot is an active member over there and has been posting details of the guitar.

Wasn't it Ric Ocasek that played an SG? I could be wrong, but regardless, this thing looks real nice.

With all due respect to Elliot Easton, quite frankly, I barely know who The Cars even are. I just think it's a beautiful take on my favorite guitar!

Ah the young guys! The Cars made some very listenable songs in their day. Eliot Easton is a master of "playing for the song". His solos were mini masterpieces and often more difficult than they sounded. But they ALWAYS fit the songs.

Actually I was born in '76 so technically I was around in the eighties, it's just that I only knew their more synth-y pop stuff.
I hate to hijack my own thread but can anyone offer some lesser known suggested listening from these guys?
Hey, alot of The Cars hits had some tasty playing by EE.

I was born in 1983 but know The Cars' music quite well. I have always thought that Elliot Easton was a monster player, I even saw him when he was with Creedence Clearwater Revisited in the 90's. The guy can flat out play the guitar. Definately not mentioned as often as he should when it come sto great players, even Slash has said that EE is one of his favorites. I just remember him playing Deans a lot, I'm sure he has played an SG before but I just don't remember seeing any clips or pics of him with one.

I love the Cars. Great tunes. And that is a fantastic looking guitar! Does anyone know if it will be available in other colors?

I have been saying that same exact thing for many years.
He is a master at that, some of those solos in the cars were so out there but always worked. That is a rare talent indeed.

The guitar was featured in Vintage Guitar a couple of issues ago. It will come in either Pelham Blue or Antique White. The white has gold hardware and looks really killer. Easton commented that he always loved the look of white SG Customs (one of my favorites!) but didn't want the middle pickup, so Gibson made him one and it later became his signiture model. The guitar looks awesome!

Double E posts at ETSG and seems jazzed to have Gibson making a signature model.I don't know the man but he comes across on the internet forums as a good dude.Right on for Elliot.
