Custom strat "type" guitars. suggestions?

Hi, I'm just looking for other makers of strat type guitars. I know of a few namely John Suhr, Bill Nash, Rocket Fire. What other manufacturers are out there that are making vintage type strats, and what experiences or thoughts have you had on them?
Just looking for more suggestions/recommendations before spending on yet another guitar.

James Tyler and Tom Anderson guitars are both way up there in quality.
I would add those to the list.

I have played a James Tyler, and I remember the neck feeling incredible and the sound to be quite resonant for an electric guitar.

Bill Chapin is my luthier of choice. He does a mean S type guitar. Detemple and Callaham are also top notch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I forgot about Callaham. Also need to check out Chapin. Ive heard of them but never tried out any. I live in Canada, so unfortunately i dont get the chance to really try any handbuilt S types. There is a store here that deals with Nash guitars but they sell out as fast as they come in.
Looks like custom order is the way to go for me. I'll research the names mentioned here.

a used grosh would get you the best value among any of these builders mentioned (they tend to have worse resale, so I've noticed), and they're killer instruments.

This may be out in left field but have you concidered Fender? They make some really nice stuff.

i just bought a used Suhr "Nashville " tele, about 3 years old, some scars, very well played in ( belonged to a fellow pro player ) paid $ 1400,- for it and i'm a happy camper ! that guitar plays better than any Fender i ever had my hands on, nails about every vintage-oriented tone i want to hear and with the retrofit SSC silence-system i can play anywhere i want without any noise-issues. can' be beat in my book. there are plenty of used Suhr fiddles on the market between 1400 and 2000 and they are worth it. the choice is so big these days ... good luck and have fun with it !

Ive got a Grosh and a Tyler. I say buy a Grosh. I dont like the Compound Radius on the Tylers. Im actually sending it back where I bought it today.

there is no better built strat style guitar than a detemple. he goes to ridiculous lengths to make the very best. i'd also look at sadowskys.
