So what's your preferred brand/type? I've used a Dampit for several years but am curious about the Planet Waves and the Oasis. Anything else out there that I should be considering?
Thanks,
Mike

can't recommend the planet waves. used it all last winter, and my top still dried out. i'll be trying some different ones this winter.

I've used the Planet Waves in my Santa Cruz cases for the past several years and they work as advertised.

I use a Kyser Lifeguard on the recommendation of the luthier that repaired my 65 Gibson. Worked out well for me last winter. Its one of those soundhole plugs with some spongy material in it to hold water.

+1 for the Kyser Lifeguard..I would recommend taking off the plastic ring that comes with it though...unless you want to scratch the soundhole/top of your guitar.

I use the PW's one, but its the only one Ive tried. Works great with the PW's hydrometer that came with it. I like how its suspended between the strings and cant really hit the guitar if you just leave the case laying down flat.

I have just got some Oasis humidifiers to try this winter. Looks well made but can't comment as yet as to how effective they will be. As an aside, at what humidity level do people tend to use their humidifiers?

I keep the percentage in my Santa Cruz cases around mid-40s.

I also try to keep my levels around 40-50%.
