Woah, brazilian back and sides on an electric hollowbody. I bet it sounds mindblowingly unique. I would love a rosewood hollowbody!

The purfling on most Thorns is too flashy for my tastes. That silver purfling looks perfect to me! That might be the best looking Thorn I've ever seen and I assume it will play and sound as good as it looks. Congratulations.

I would have probably gone overboard and gotten a rosewood neck too. It would be like a marimba guitar!

Bill, where'd you score the PRS/Baggs system as a separate? Please don't
tell me you sacrificed a HB or (gasp!) an Archtop for it!

I beleive PRS sells the parts separately at high prices but Im not sure. Cant you just buy the bridges from LR Baggs?

No, you cannot buy the PRS/LR Baggs piezo, and neither company is too excited about sharing much info on them. I actually bought it from a dealer off ebay probably 4-5 years ago. Not sure what their source was.

This guitar was about 5 years in the making. Tried to get PRS make a PS from the BRW - TWICE though their drying room. It was originally one big log, which as strange as it sounds, I do not think they were able figure out how to cut. I had it cut, then another trip through the hot room before they declined again. Hence the PRS heavy specs. The HB piezo is likely my favorite PRS combo of weight and versatility. I am counting on the Thorn blowing away my PS HB.

Ron Thorn is my hero.

Now somebody buy my Employee HB II Artist, so I can afford the Thorn.

That's one of the nicest (IMO) Thorns I've seen. I love the back and sides of that one.

Congrats!

Thorns have my favorite fretboard inlays ever.... I love them.

Really, Jimmydeez? Wow, the inlays totally killed any desire I ever had to have a Thorn. They look like frat-boy tattoos to me. Different strokes...

+1

Beautiful woodchoices, and Thorn definately has an eye for quality, but these guitars all look machine built to me, rather than handmade, and that's not because of any great precision. ::deep breath:: sorry for the run-on.

Probably the best Thorn I've seen to date, I bet it sounds heavenly, congrats!

This is one of my favorite Thorns for sure. Classic in every way.

It's comical to me that anyone would say the "firesun" inlays would stop them from getting a Thorn. One of the coolest parts about ordering a Thorn (I don't have one on order but I have spoken to Ron) is that you have access to one of the finest inlay shops around. They can do nearly anything you'd want, and the prices would suprise you.

Firesuns are standard, but the sky is limit as far as inlays go. If you can dream it, Ron can do it. Also, they look way cooler in person.

Besides, you don't really play the inlays do you?
