Unique Gustavsson Pickups (Matte?)

Maybe its me, but I cant find CDaughtry's thread about new Gustavsson guitars anymore. In it Matte had a few new toys with humbucking Charlie Christian pickups.

Any word on Dom. Ramos and the sonic details of such oddball electronics would be much appreciated.

PS: How do normal Charlie Christians sound under high(er) gain conditions?

dominick ramos has been building exact repros of charlie christians for some time now. i wanted to replace the pickups in the korina jg with something more open than humbuckers and i wanted them to be noiseless. who better than dom to address that?

we went with the cc platform with a few tweaks (like stacked coils and rod magnets for the bridge pickup. he replaced the middle pickup on my mahogany bruisemonster with a similar pickup as well.

i have a stevens les plank on the way with a skyway. the b3 turned into my old stevens split headstock explorer.

Those Ramos pickups are incredible!

How do they compare to the old Gibson Alnico V pickup? You mentioned a 7 string Duncan Custom Shop version a while back. These stacked CC's seem like they would have similar "meat with clarity" tone but with less noise.

Seriously, though, that is the most beautiful LP-style guitar I have ever seen, and I've seen quite a few.

I think I'll have to count up all my MIJ Fenders and parts guitars and unused pedals and excess pickups to see if I can swing one of these...look out for a TGP yard sale if I can make it work!

first I find out people are pissing on threads.

doesn't that get the computer all wet and cause short circuits ? how dumb is THAT?

I prefer pissing in toilets, and no matter WHAT someone's issues might be ... I might goof on them unmercifully IF I knew them ... but since this is ALL virtual here ...I prefer to treat them honorably and not piss on them . ... well ... OK ... MAYBE I'd piss on Sadaam Hussein .. probably not though.

usually matte removes older pics to put up newer ones. the links eventually die. if you request a specific shot of one of mattes guitars, he will usually post it. im still hoping he re-posts the shots of his friend dr know's bolt on JG
