Thought I'd share gang.

Thorn 140 I've had going a while. It's the Peter Green/ 50s faded Les Paul tribute. I wanted my favorite aspects of the 50's LP, the eastern maple top complete with the oh so sexy mineral streaks, Honduras mahogany back and neck, braz board, faded Lemondrop burst, along with my favorite modern accutrements. 25" scale, Neck patterned after (now Pauldogx's) standard 24, 10 " radius, 6105 fretwire, tremolo, the beautiful firesuns an purfling that Ron does, chambered body, etc.
Electronics are WCR Moore/Green set, 2 volumes, 1 tone 3 way switch, pickups out of phase.

So far, it's exceeding expectations in every regard.

Off to buffing soon, should be completed sometime in November.

Mikey, that's just ridiculous...man, I wish I could come up with the change for one of Ron's guitars...That looks very, very tasteful...perfect call on the pickup choice too!

Looking good!

A fact I'm very pleased about. LOL

Ron didn't offer an SC at the time, and it doesn't matter, I much prefer a double cut.

I know you wanted to go for a subtle flame Mike, but GEEZ that baby is KILLER! Every bit as cool as a "10" top in my book! :AOK Looking forward to seeing this one completed! :D That lemon drop finish is killer!

It seems even when you ask for something subtle from Ron, it still looks way cooler than what most anyone else is putting out. Awesome! Congrats Mike!

Wow Mike,

that is incredible. Very, very fine looking and great vibe. I really dig it and think you are achieving your goal with this one.

Ron nails it again. Very unique for a Thorn too.

I approve.:AOK (Like you needed my approval)

Thanks guys! I'm reallty thrilled.

I SWEAR there wasn't that much flame before it was carved. Ron said the same. It's almost morphed to a 4A I guess! LOL total accident! Everything about this was chosen for tone with looks not even that important. Funny thin, I think that was the most boring hunk o maple in the shop! :D

I love it! Lemond Drop is one of my all-time favorite colors. I just ordered another Thorn in Lemon Drop (No burst) this week from Mr. Thorn. So it will be interesting to see or guitar finished. Keep us posted on progress Mike.

Funny, I've been pondering that for a Thorn to be named later.
Wonder if Ron can do the 'Shield' inlays.:D

Mike,

Incredible guitar. I was just raving about the blue thorn in another thread although I occassionaly start thinking I should go with Lemondrop because I love the look too. Now I am tempted again. :)

I'm in San Jose. I'd love to come take a look at your baby when it done. That might push me over the edge to Lemondrop!
