Thanks!

As a huge TCM fan, I hate to see such weak re-sale on TCM's. But, when a beauty like this comes along, it sure is nice to be able to score such a smokin' deal.

Definitely.

Loved the vid you posted a while back of you rockin' the Terrycaster at a blues jam.

I'm thinking a Terrycaster is next on my wish list.

That's a ridiculous deal for a Taurus, and yours is quite the example of the kind of work that Terry is capable of :)

Crazy Carl
10-05-2006, 05:52 AM
No doubt, Rob, although that isn't the sickest Taurus I've ever seen. Roger's, in Peacock, is stunning & many moons ago, a TCM forumite offered me a 3 p/u Taurus with a Master Grade, one piece top in Old Gold that was to die for.

They don't seem to have gotten much publicity lately, but some of Terry's more recent stuff, such as this Gemini-
http://www.willcuttguitars.com/images/5062-1.jpg

Or this 25th Ann. Gemini-
http://www.mcinturffguitars.com/00-25thAnniversary/Gallery/25003/25003-10Lg.jpg

are just insane.

Oh man...I don't recall seeing either of those before.

As good as Terry is, I do feel that he's outdone himself the last couple of years. I haven't seen anything come out of his shop that's been less than amazing since mid-2004. I dunno how he does it, but he does :D

I don't know if SeanF is still making cabs.
He posted last month, but he's hardly posted this entire year.
His website is not up, either, that's why I didn't list it.
I've sent him an email to see how he's doing, and I linked this thread.
Hopefully everything's ok, and we'll get a reply.

Wow that was fast. Guitar shipped Tues & was waiting for me at the post office today.

So.....

This beauty is MINT. Not a scratch on it. Not even any fretwear!

Mild V carve on it is touch smaller than on my FLE. Perfect feel & wicked comfy.

Like all TCMs with Zodiac p/u's, it is VERY articulate, leaning a little toward the bright side (new strings may be contributing to that a bit). Very responsive & resonant.

Gonna spend some more time playing it, 'fore I make a decision on swapping the p/u's. Fairly stout for a TCM; feels like about 9 1/2 lbs or so, but who cares, right?

Was playing along with Fastway's 'Say What You Will' & this guitar absolutely nailed Fast Eddie's sound on that. Way cool. I'd imagine it'd do a killer blooze, as well, but I'm stuck in metalhead mode, right now :dude
Blah blah blah, this guitar kicks :moon ! I can't even imagine what this dude's other Taurus must sound like, if he let this one go. Deffo a keeper.
(I'll post up some pix of the 'family' in a couple days).

Same price I picked mine up for, but that was 4 years ago. I am still in love with this guitar.

Pics here: (thanks hasserl)

I have the fat neck which is a constant fat profile which I love. I have big hands so it just fits. I like my Les Paul...but I really prefer my Taurus. And the in between sounds are useful. And I don't know how heavy mine is, but I'd guess in the 8 lbs range...definitely lighter than the Paul and the Paul is not particularly heavy. My buddy had an early 80s flame top Paul, must have been 10-11 lbs! OUCH.

Off the point though, isn't 667 across the street from the Beast? Wouldn't 668 be the neighbor of the Beast? This ground has probably been covered, forgive me.
