Terry does some smokin' finish work!

I had a one-off Zodiac "back in the day" with a master grade quilt top from Terry's private stock of woods. It had an incredible double dip finish on it. Absolutely beautiful work.

Terry does fantastic work, probably the best I've ever seen. Even though I've gigged with the DRP on a few occasions, I don't play her out much. I'm scared to death to put a scratch/ding on her !

Dude, that is a gorgeous guitar! Don't be afraid of getting a ding in 'er- despite the 'pretty factor', Terry designed & built these to be road-worthy tools.

John,

Thanks for your interest! This may be a case of "things happening for a reason".

The maple topped Royal II will remain the same, but there are a few tweeks on the new Royal and I'll be announcing them soon. Sometimes waiting works well.

What bridge/saddles does Terry use on the 'caster?

He's used a couple of different ones. My hunch is that he will use whatever bridge you prefer (if you have a particular preference) since the Terrycaster is not a part of regular production...yet. :)

Being the unemployed college student that I am, I can't see myself being able to afford a Royal anywhere in the near future, but it never hurts to window-shop and dream. I've always enjoyed your participation on the boards as well, hope things continue to go well for you.

Can't wait to see what the upcoming "tweeks" are. :dude

Wow, great memory, Teleplayer. It is not the same guitar. The one at Overland Express had a rosewood fretboard, although the color was similar.

10-15-2006, 09:34 AM
Hodad, if my memory serves...at least as of 2 years ago, there were only 2 or 3 with maple boards. I think that one of them was made for Clapton...memroy a bit fuzzy.

The Stetsbar is a drop-in replacement for a tune-o-matic bridge. No routing or mods to the guitar are necessary; you can put the guitar back to stock without there being any sign the Stetsbar was ever present.
