Hi,
I bought years ago a Princeton 1964 mod. 6G2 the seller told me "All original"!!
This morning I opened the amp and...there is somenthing really strange.
Can anyone told me what he did?
Is it possible to restore the amp in original way?
Thanks
Francesco

that is used on the center tap to drop the voltage.. it's mounted thru the chassis correct?
it's hard to tell from the picture..what are the wires that are attached to it going to?

I'm with Mr Coffee. It looks like a diode to drop the voltage.A bigger picture would make it more clear. The thing that looks strange is that it looks like on of the filament windings is also connected to it.

Can this be seen from the top of the chassis? If so, can we get a pic?

It's a UEO (Unidentified Electronic Object). Definitly not original to the Princeton.
It's hard to take a seller's word for it when they say "all original" unless there's other evidence to prove it. Many people say that in advertising their gear, but in reality may not know for sure. To them, from the outside, it looks all original so it must be. But evils may lurk inside. When really wanting something "all original", complete pics before purchase are the only real way to verify unless the seller has some sort of warranty regarding originality, or has otherwise proven their integrity with respect to product descriptions.

Thanks for informations, I'm really angry above all with me,
so I'll probably try to restore it in original way.
Thanks
