Is it for aesthetics?

I am looking for a friend who builds amps but is not computer savvy. He wants to experiment to see if it affects tone and grounding issues.

Galvanized copper? Modern galvanizing is always zinc (some hot dip and some electroplate) and most steel chassis have this for corrosion resistance.

You can get a plater to electroplate copper onto plain carbon steel or make a chassis from brass. There is normally a copper coat applied before nickel which is applied before chrome, three layers. Shiney chassis that would be. They can also brass electroplate a steel chassis without the copper undercoat, IIRC.

Doh, edit to answer your question. If you already have a chassis you can take it to a metal fabricator and have him duplicate it in brass or plain carbon steel and they can have it electroplated with anything you want. Don't say galvanized or they'll probably come back with one zinc plated.
