Been a while since I've posted anything
I've been experimenting with different mics, and placement so I tried this take. This was a SM58 with the top removed, close miked, and a pair of condensers for the ambience.
It's the Dimarzio Area 58 neck and middle and '61 bridge straight into my '57 Silvertone 5 watt maxed. Still pretty clean.
This sounded real sweet in my headphones, not as good in the speakers... well my speakers anyway.
I'm not certain who made the bangin' backing, but I believe they are French

Harry I always look forward to hearing stuff from you.
Really great tone and feel you got going here, my head was bumping along to the whole groove throughout. The track reminds me a little of a Robben Ford/John Scofield type funk. The playing really matched well. I especially loved that lick you threw in at 0.37!
GREAT STUFF MAN!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Christopher.

That sure was an enjoyable listen, the silvertone sounds killer...
Bridge pup (I think) was paticularly good sounding and the playing
was stellar as always. Dig how you just kept the ideas flowing.......
Your posts are always worth several listens, will crank it up on the
big speakers tomorrow.........

Fantastic playing as ever Harry. So many great lines in there.
Very warm tone. I agree the bridge PUP was particuarly nice.
Thanks for posting it's a great tone reference.
(BTW the backing track link does not work)
Great as usual, Harry.

Hey thx guys :-)
I'm still workin' on the mic technique.
The neck and combo tones sounded much better in the room, for that matter so did the bridge.
The guitar is a Warmoth with lacewood on top of alder

Thx John,
So dude.... the day you run outta fresh ideas is the day there is no fight on Jerry Springer... hummm... perhaps Canada has the good sense to not carry that wonderful example of (lower)American media art :-)

Harry,
Never heard of removing the 58 top before. Does that make a difference and if so in what way?
I would try it but I dont want to bugger up my only 58 !
