speaker wiring in a hurry...can I use E tape for tonight?

guys, the slide on speaker connector on my DRRI pulled off...I have a practice tonight and have no way to solder this in place before I have to practice. Can I use E tape to secure the wire to the contact on the speaker for tonight or is this a dangerous idea? Forgive me if this is a retarded question.

Can you crimp the slide connector back onto the wire?

Just be aware that if it slips off or loses connection while you're playing, you will very likely blow your OT or tubes/screen resistors.

...and since a speaker is made to vibrate, teh wire vibrating loose isn't an unlikely scenario.

If you "thread" the wire thru the speaker tab,twist and tape-no problem.:AOK Its less likely to come off than with the connector.
