i am attempting to build my first amp prob 4-5 watt, and 2x12 cab, and pedalboard. any input, schematics, materials lists, where to start and how to start would be greatly appreciated. Ive got a great electrician, carpenter, woodworking genius, etc. who can build or wire anything working with me, but we have never built any of these things. so a start would be nice....thanks a ton!!!

For a low wattage first amp go here:

Rich is a stand up guy and goes the distance if you need help.
From what I've read from newbies like your self, plan on about
10 - 16 hours for your first build.
Good luck and have fun.

+1 on the Guytronix recommendation. I built the Gilmore Jr. (2 watt V-mod version) a few months ago and had a great time doing my first build. It is a great kit with a high quality chassis and components. Rich is so supportive and stands by his amp kits big time!

Unless they've dropped it Angela Instruments had parts and plans for tweed Princeton types on their website angela.com. Probably not a bad place to start if the metalwork and cabinetry doesn't bother you. I know there are kits out there, which will help for a first timer. The champ clone is ubiquitous. You might want to copy something like a Vox AC-5 for something a little different.
Google like a madman. It's been a long time since I've hunted for that sort of info, but I know there's tons out there. If you want throw a post up of what you find and we can help sort wheat and chaff.

+1000 on Guytronix.
Or try out the AX84 which has a website and online forum.
Trying to build your first amp from schematics alone will likely be a frustrating experience. Layout is critical. Wiring according to the schematic is only about 25% of what's needed to actually get an amp to work.

Hey Mike,
You could set wreck1 up with a set of tubes also, couldn't you?

What more do you want?
There comes a time where you will have
to start doing your own digging and research.
