Simple question here: when soldering speaker wire to a 1/4 switchcraft jack which wire, + or - goes on the small inside tab and which attaches to the bigger, outside tab?
Thanks

Yes, but are you referring to a jack (female) or a plug (male)? When I read the initial post, I was thinking that john b could be referring to a Switchcraft jack with a shorting tab ("the small inside tab"). In that case, the big outer tab is the + and the small inside tab should go to ground, as should the third lug, which is the ring.

Yup, Scott you are correct.
I was thinking of the male plug when I wrote that.
I quickly modified my previous post.
(But you saw it before I did !!)

sorry about the confusion. I'm referring to the plug (male). So, with the plug, the + goes to the small inside tab and the - to the larger outside tab, correct?
