I have what I think is a speaker cable but want to identify it before I mess up an amp. There is no braided metal shielding, but two wires (black & white) and some of that brown paper material. Is this a speaker cable ?
thanks

...are the blk & wht wires thin or small in diameter or are they big?
...if small, it's signal wire, if BIG it's power wire which is fine for speakers.
...difference? small wire is for signals where very little current flows; while BIG wire is for power where there's lots of current (such as speakers).

The wires are fairly big compared to my guitar cables.

...if they're BIG (think 120VAC power cord size) they'll work fine for speakers.

Unshielded, big wires-has to be a speaker cable.
