You have a custom build of each:
$900.00 Tele
$1,500.00 Tele
$2,300.00 Tele
$4,000.00 Tele

Why??

Honestly, I don't get it.

Help me get it..

I don't get your question. What custom shop is $900?

Custom built.

I have a killer Esquire that was built by Jeff at Fabgear. EASILY better than any Fender CS that I have ever played. Actually, it is in the top 2 Tele/Esq. style guitars that I have ever played. The other was a beat to crap '52. That guitar barked like a dawg!

Anyway, mojo, feel, tone...... Everything I have ever wanted in a guitar of this type is there.

It can be CS, or custom built.

What is it that makes the more expensive guitars, more expensive?

I would say the main difference is the price.

Marketing and hype. Custom shop teles used to cost $2000 which was fair. Now they want $6000 for a masterbuilt guitar. Isn't this the same as the first relics made by Cunnuto that cost $2000? It's a load of crap. BTW, I bought a new Vinetto (Vince Cunnuto) this fall, I didn't need to pay Fenders over inflated prices.

the difference is who's building it.

Materials cost about the same no matter who builds it. My .02 says you're paying for the name, salaries, the builders skills, over head and future resale value.

I have a parts tele that is one of the sweetest sounding, best playing guitars I've ever owned. It sounds as if you've found the same in the tele you have and to me, that's more important than price or resale.

Whether it's a $900 or $6,000 guitar, if it's the one for you and you can afford it, go for it.
