I happened to drive by a nice little independent music store in San Francisco, stopped in, and started playing a "Jerry Reid Standard" Series made by a company called "Tradition Guitars" and was really impressed.

The neck, pickups, fret dressing, hardware, sound, paint, etc seemed quite good. Then the price simply shocked me - $300 - as the guitar appears as good as the model it draws its inspiration from.
Has anyone else player/owned or is familiar with this company? Thoughts?

I played a Strat-type at a local shop made by the same company - played well, very nice fit/finish... weighed a ton.

"Jerry Reid" vs. Jerry Reed?
Maybe that saves them from a call from Jerry's lawyers. :nono :D

I was involved with the company in the beginning. Yes, they're well built and an incredible value. Their 335's and jazz boxes are real nice too. They offer an ES225 style that I'm going to try soon.
Jerry Ried (sp?) is the guitar player for Mel Tillis, not the other Jerry Reed but still an amazing player. The guy is missing a chunk off the end of his index finger and will still blow you away.
A number of players on the Grand Ol Opry use Tradition and those guys can play anything they want. I've watched Jerry and one of the other guys in an impromptu jazz jam that was fantastic.
The pups in those guitars are nothing to sneeze at either. Of course, that's completely subjective.
Overall it's a very worthwhile line.
