tell me if this works I haven't used soundclick before.

Been lurkin around here for a while and never posted so be nice.

This is a song I cooked up for my churches 12/31 service. Low gain stuff is my Am Deluxe Strat wi EJ pkups with an eternity pushing my FTR-37. For the higher gain I pushed the eternity with a Butler Tube Driver.

Kept the song pretty simple since I usually have about 10 minutes to teach it to the band.

that was cool!

unique overall sound, great vocals, and funkay!
--i could use a little more depth/dimension on the dirty tones ala stereo micing or stereo fx in mixing, but that's my personal taste.

have a blessed new year's eve!

Deer >>> headlights.

I'm trying to picture you teaching this song to my band in TEN MINUTES!!!

Really enjoyed your work. Quite excellent song writing and really interesting ideas all the way through. Nice job and please post more!

Ok, these thoughts just popped into my head. Most of the time I listen to music written by other people, a few passages jump out at me as they very closely resemble stuff I've heard in other songs.

In your particular song, much of the groove and feel is very similar to the song, Tell Me Something Good by Chaka Kahn (sp?)

Also, you had some off-beat sticatto 2 voice harmonies near the end of the song that came down in decending fashion. This vocal part was very similar to the vocals in the Aerosmith song, Last Child near the end of that song!

Purely coincidental, I'm sure.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I hear what you mean with the lack of depth...I'll try two mics. These days I'm more prone to spending less time tweaking and just getting the idea down. As for the Chaka and Aerosmith reference those songs may have been buried deeeeeeeep in my subconcious otherwise the similarity is coincidental. Alas, there are but 12 tones in the scale.

Thanks again,
Ted

Very nice.... the verse sections are reminicent of Jonny Lang (his newest cd).... A little less grindage in the chorus would make it flow better (to me anyway)....

GREAT VOCALS by the way!

Got any more?

You caught me....I've been listening to Jonny Lang's new one alot. In fact, I've sung two of the songs from it(Thankful, and On My Feet Again) at my church in the last month. I'm kinda glad it's not selling so well, that way I can plagiarize it to death.......wait, is that wrong?

You can always ask for forgiveness since you're already in church....lol.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so I'm sure Jonny won't mind too much. Not only that but you have a great voice and I'm sure you do his songs justice!

I put another one up. It's called Hold the Wind.

Most of my songs are .wma files and soundclick only does mp3.....anyone know a good conversion site or progam?

gotta love worship band gigs...wonderful boot camps though. There's nothing like learning five or six songs over a couple hours and playing them live 30 minutes later....:crazyguy

nice tunes also...

We did Resolve today....I had the keyboardist cover the verse rythym with an overdriven Rhodes sound......it was pretty darn cool. My voice felt pretty good considering the first service is at 8 am. I had to use the churches Orange amp though (yes my church has an Orange amp which makes it pretty much the coolest church ever) because my /13 ceased to function yesterday. It started blowing fuses. By the way anyone looking to buy a FTR-37......ooops wrong forum.

Sounds great, Ted. Have to agree with everyone here, great vocals. Glad you're making good use of that Eternity I sold ya. Doing much more with it than I could have done hehe. Keep up the great work!
