What's a good interface to use to get XLR into garage band.
I want to make clips, throw a live mic or two up for band practice, that sort of thing.
If we're talking a couple hundred bucks, would I be better off getting the new MBox2 Mini?
Thanks...and particularly for your patience. Im a blithering idiot when it comes to this stuff.

Hey Mike,
I LOVE my M-Audio Firewire 410...I might be in the couple hundred price range, but it does everything from XLR inputs to 1/4 inch inputs (even two simultaneously). It has ALL the bells and whistles and then some.
Check it out: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-main.html

Hmm....Yeah looks pretty cool, but for that much would I be better off with the MBox Mini that comes with Pro Tools instead of the garage band route?
Thanks for the input!!

depends on what you are running on. Pro-Tools is a BIG program. The whole beauty of the M-Audio is that it CAN work with pro-tools, but it also works with smaller programs such as garageband/logic, which come with most Macs. It all depends on what you want to do. Plus the sonic quality of the M-Audio is far superior to the M-Box...Remember, your sound is as only good as your interfaces...
