I've been thinking of getting a low watt voxy style amp. Tried the AC15CC which was cool, but my friends top hat clubroyale seemed much sweeter, I wish I could have compred them side by side. I've heard the tophat is suppose to be somewhere between vox and marshall but it definitely sounds voxy to me.
I've been hearing a lot of buzz about the goodsell 17 but don't know anyone with one to check out. Has anyone tried both and can you offer the main differneces in tone?

I've also wondered about these two. Can anybody offer any insight?
I've played the Goodsell's but not the Tophat's, the Goodsell sounded amazing!

I thought I wanted a Vox AC15 because my Ric sounds so good through my Goodsell S17. I went to my dealer who carries both and a/b them on the spot. I turned to the wife and said "I don't want a vox anymore" after gassing on it for weeks. Why? The Goodsell does the Vox better and has more in the gain channel as well.

Yeah, the Goodsell blows the VoxAc15 away. I've played both and they aren't even close in my opinion. Don't mean to sound like a snob but, it's true. Goodsell is one of the best amps I've played

Top Hat amps are voiced incredibly well if you are after a vintage tone. Extremely versatile and built like tanks. I have owned five Top Hat amps and still own four of them. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased a TH Club Royale (2 x 12) about 1 month ago for my Vox vibe.
What a great amp.
I did swap in one Blue for some of that magic chime

Ditto...........except I have owned 11 TopHats. The new-circuit 2x12 Club Royale, loaded with a Heritage G12H and Blue is a screamer. Great amp.

I own a one of the few Goodsell Super 17 2x12 combo's, I think you can't go wrong with either, both are very good amps. FWIW my Super 17 has gotten me more complements on my playing & tone then any other amp I've owned.....
