Some of you may recall my Trini Lopez I scored at a local pawn shop a few months ago. I got a new camera for Christmas and finally got around to taking some pictures. I need to work on photography as much as I do my playing!!! Here are the pics anyway!

Just a few quick reminders about this one. I got a great deal on it. It has early Grovers. Brass Switch Tip (70s!), and an obviously non-original pick guard with a master volume(an old pro mod). Otherwise-It is a pretty nice guitar. I love the neck and the bridge pickup rips. I'll remove the master volume mod once I find a vintage correct PG for it. :dude

Thanks again to the guys here who answered questions and helped me not make the mistake of missing this one!

Take Care,

Johnny

If you get a chance....Listen to Oasis's last two albums. About 85% of the stuff was done on Noel Gallagher's Trini Lopez just like yours. He is using a TS-9, Boss DD3 Delay into two Clark Tyger Amps.

Lovely Classic Rock tones!

Cool!

If'n it were me- get a new pickguard, a amber switch tip, black bell knobs (or speed knobs- I hate the 'witch hats.') maybe some Graph Tech saddles and boom!

BTW, make sure to save all the quirky stuff- just as you alluded to- they tell part of the story of where that guitar was before you got it.

Thanks Fellas for the nice comments! This happens to be my first 'old wood' score. I was GASing bad for an old SG but never found a deal that I felt good about in my budget. Then this came along-essentially a 335 for less than 2K. I still can't believe I 'slept' on it before RACING back the next morning to get it.LOL. All is well that ends well.

Golden Boy...I do plan to get a vintage correct guard and switch tip...I've been shopping for an additional bridge and would like to try the graph tech saddles after reading so much about them. The current bridge is fine and the current saddles are ok but do exhbit many years of Love.

Thanks Again,

Johnny

JohnnyL, thats a sweet score on your part, I've also got a 67 Trini that I bought back in '77 for $425.00 (eighth st. music in Philly, still have the receipt!)

Anyway, have you checked Trini's out on the 'Bay, they're going for serious cash! At less than 2K, You absolutely stole this guitar! Good for you! :AOK

Nice guitar.

I remember walking passed Selmers in London in the sixties and they had one in the window in Pelham Blue. Kind of suited it really well.

Best, Pete.

Hey Dewman! I'll save you from reading the original threads discussing this one. I picked up the guitar and original, battered case containing many sets of strings, tools, old slide and picks for $1500.00!

Sorry for the delayed reply-I haven't logged in much lately.

Peace,

Johnny
