hello, all,

recently i played a gig (Foghorn in Santa Cruz for you locals) and got a lot of noise from the amp. the amp is fine everywhere else i've played - it's a well-maintained & loved Juke 1210. the noise was so bad i was unable to play my single-coil guitar (Lollar P90s) and used my humbucker all night (Chapin Devil Dog w/WCR in the neck, Chapin "Truth" 'bucker in the bridge). the noise was still annoying, but tolerable.

quality of the noise is 60-cycle hum but with additional rasp and weird overtones, too. outlet was shared with a neon sign and a jukebox, IIRC. but it was still bad when i moved elsewhere along the wall. bass player did not have this problem using a Walter Woods bass amp.

what causes this & what kinda of power-treatment/filter gadget i can plug into to defeat that?

thanks in advance,

power conditioners
they have tons on MF
that one is talored (and listed) for live sound, so it should do just fine. they make them cheaper, but you get what you pay for

edit
and if you dont want the rack type thing go for this

be aware though that if your playing a single coil guitar near any neon signs or even some old flouresent lighting you can pick up alot of noise thru your pickups.but a power conditioner surely would help on the other end.
