I currently have 2 McSoaps and I am thinking about installing Mini-Humbuckers in one of them. Has anyone tried mini's in a McSoap?

What are some good sounding mini's that will drop right into a McSoap? I bought some NOS Lawrence mini hums about a year ago and they don't fit in as they are too deep. They are pretty cool, the pup and the ring are all one piece. I don't remember the model number off hand but they are supposed to be from the 70's and were used by Joe Perry.

Any thoughts on mini's in general.

Thanks, Joe

The Lawrence pups are L-560's, I just checked.

Have you thought about P90-sized TV Jones Classics? I love the sound of those things and they're dead quiet too.

That's a cool idea, thanks. I will look into those as well.

you could try Tom Anderson's "M" series pickups also..you just have to ask them for the extra P-90 routing mounting thingy's

"M" series don't sound much like a traditional mini-hum though. More like a fat SC with less sparkle.

I would go with TV Jones as well. Some of the best sound pickups around.

I think there are some sound clips using the PRS pictured on the page.
