I am saving money in case Gibson put out Historic Pearly Gates. So I let Page, Allman, Rossington and Hendrix V pass away.
Anyone else looking forward to getting one? :AOK

If Gibson decides to do an accurate Pearly Gates - I'm all over it.

If I was ever to be tempted by a Sig model, that would be it.

That would be cool.

I do believe they are coming out with a Warren Haynes at NAMM...per internet rumor.

Heard that rumor too. Probably gonna be way too expensive. I can't think of a more deserving player to get one. He is a poster child for Gibson in the Jam community.

As Billy Gibbons has a deal with Gretsch/Fender I don't think there will be a Gibson Pearly Gates model in the near future.

No,I don't have the slightest interest in a signature Les Paul that has the Reverend's mark on it,as Pearly is a plain ol' 'burst,sorry-they ain't made those since 1958,like Pearly, and aren't likely to reproduce her with any kind of real accuracy in the near future...Pearly is what she is,because she belongs to Billy, and she is a Gibson,a very old Gibson Les Paul...nothing more or less.

Likely. But what about Clapton 335?

Even if Gibson did decide to release a "Pearly", I would doubt it would be one of their 7-10k guitars. The knockoff market has jumped with the blackie, and EVH reissues. I'd bet you're looking at 25-30k minimum.

So I don't really care...out of my range.

I sort of disagree here. PG has a unique color that no LP in the book BOTB has. I recall seeing PG when she was still much newer looking in the early 70s, and even then, that color was nowhere to be found on another LP anywhere, and I looked for one. My eye sees a Brockburst as possibly the closest, if it were faded a bit.

BTW, I'd love a PG LP, but i doubt I'd spring for one, and if they do one, I'd prefer it without all the current wear.

I don't doubt this, and I love Warren's playing........but why? Doesn't he play a stock 1958 Reissue now?

I heard that it would be his 'signature' model, not a replica of the guitar he's playing. It must be interesting anyway.

I think you are right. It's not my idea. :jo

I think the whole signature thing is a bit out of control.

The only sig I have is Les Paul Boneyard which I bought for the tone, Peter Green reverse polarity neck pup, great flame and color, and playability. I like Aerosmith and I like Joe and Billie Perry but that had nothing to do with my purchase decision.
