Yep, I've researched and figured I'd throw this out before making my decision.
I am looking for a decent delay to use when I can't use my TTE. Length of delay not really important, but would be nice to have. Tap tempo, nope don't use it. Could do without modulation. I don't care what the unit has, as long as it sounds good to my ears. I play mostly Hard Blues and Hendrix type stuff.
Thanks for the comments in advance!

Funny thing Jack, I had all three in my studio for a few weeks. I sold the 999 and bought a Maxon AD-9.

After working these out, I am selling the Maxon. But the choice between the DMM and the ET is a tough one. They both sound great. The money difference is big between them. If you could try both of them and chose one, you won't be making a mistake. They are both great.

But that one's AC powered isn't it? That's a deal breaker...

the replica is also $400. i'm looking for a new delay too, and as much as i want the replica, it just doesn't make sense to me right now to pay that much for one. a lot of people are telling me that the echotap is the way to go, especially for the money.

I have the memory lane pedal. I love it but it's totally for the EH memory man fans. It's quieter and has tap tempo tho' which makes it more flexible.

i too am looking for a great delay, as my DL4 has fallen apart once a week and is now a pile of trash. I went to tone merchants (great boutique dealer here in socal) and they have the diamond memory lane, replica, echotap, maxon, etc. I had cash in hand, ready to demo some pedals, and he didnt even try to sell me one of them because he said there was some "unbelievable" sounding delays getting debuted at the NAMM show this weekend...he said to try and wait a couple weeks, as there will be some amazing offerings then and it could be worth the wait...didnt give me any exact details, but im sure we'll be hearing soon. Dont take my word for it, but its some food for thought.:AOK

Ya know, I'm not sure I can hold out, my option would be to get a DE7 or Ibanez AD9 to use for awhile.

check out the TC vintage. I like that better than the T-rex. The switches IMO are better (i.e they click)

I love my AD999. To me, it's the most ideal analog delay.
I've tried the DMM, and it just colors your tone way too much. With the AD999, you can make it as aparent or as subtle as you'd like.. but with the DMM, it's really obvious when it's switched on. The original, dry signal is delayed on the ad999, while the wet sound is delayed on the DMM.

I've not played the Echotap, though..

I sold my AD999 and EH MM and I really liked both but the Memory Lane just sounds much better with one caveat- it doesn't do the spaceship landing thing nearly as well as the others. If you look inside all three, the ML has superior build quality too.

You may want to think about the Keeley moded DD3 another great overlooked delay.
