Today i returned my new memory lane to the store because it was to noisy. Then i tried: the TC elec. delay, the maxon AD-9, and the delayla XL(Carl Martin). The only delay that produced no noise and a very good clean sound was the delayla XL.
Let me tell you that i have always played with my old boss delay DD2.(good clean sound and no noise).
If i had known, i would never payed so much cash for a noisy sound.
What is the problem? digital or analog. I readed that the delayla XL is an hybrid digital/analog. Is it the reason for what the delayla XL doesnt maked noise?
What do you think about the Delayla XL and the Delayla vintage style echo?
Thank you!

The old Delayla will go into its grave when the new Echotone will hit the streets.
And yes the XL is a hybrid, as for the noise...well just tried to get it as noisefree as possible when we make those:)

Rid, how much longer for this Echotone? I remember you used it on a clip quite a while back.

I feel your pain. Listened critically to my whole rig last night and I was suprised by the noise makers. DD-20 definately has more noise than I thought. Comparitively, my DD-5 is MUCH quieter. I want to try running my DD-20 in parallel.

I wonder if Damage Control will ever come out with the Time Line. It's supposed to have great SNR.

On a brighter note, I was absolutely floored by my COT50. Pretty much dead quiet and tone to die for as well.

I use a DeLayla XL at the end of my chain and have been very happy with it. I've been through a few delay pedals and so far this should be a keeper. It has a very warm & colorful sound to it. Sounds analog with a vintage vibe and no noticable extra noise.

It's not cheap, but I have no regrets and wouldn't go back.

The only downside (which is actually a positive for the pedal) is that it needs an actual AC outlet to plug in or a box like the Voodoo Labs Power Pedal II that has a built in ac outlet. The built in power supply i believe helps keep extra noise out of circuit.

I'm surprised to hear the Memory Lane described as noisy. I'm pretty happy with the tone and relatively low noise floor of my Deluxe Memory Man, and I thought the ML was supposed to be even quieter than the DMM (haven't played a ML myself).
