Anyone else into 9 or 10 strings? Let's see 'em!

Don't have pics, but that is what I prefer over 12 strings if I am only using 1 guitar at a gig. I am thinking about builng a nine string electric someday..
wouldnt the uneven tension of stringing a 12 string guitar with only 9 strings end up twisting the neck over time? unless maybe you had a dual truss rod neck?

The tension across the neck of a 12-string is already very unbalanced. Eliminating the octave strings on the bass side actually equalizes the tension to a degree, and allows you to use much heavier bass strings for more volume (the low strings aren't flapping out against the adjascent strings).

How hard would it be to modify a standard dreadnought like a Taylor 310 or Larrivee D-03 that I have my eyes on?
