Quick Ohm question

I have an old Music Man 2x12 65 combo that I'm going to put new speakers in. On the back there is a switch for 4 or 8 Ohms. If I buy two 8 Ohm speakers and wire them parallel I would have 4 Ohm load and just flip the switch to 4 Ohms, correct?

And would there be any important sonic advantage to buying different speakers in order to run an 8 Ohm load, versus the 4 Ohm?
