Hi All,
I'm probably going to swap out my old tired spreaker for something that actually works correctly but I need help deciding which is the best to use. I need a 15" 16 ohm speaker and this will be used for guitar not bass. Jensen seem to be the only company I found that offers this type of configuration(correct me if I'm wrong). The models I found are C15K, C15N, MOD15 and a P15N. So basically which would work best with guitar? The amp is putting out 50 watts but my tech says Gibson over rates their amps so figure 30-40 watts. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Sam

Sam,
There are actually more choices from Jensen as well as others. Picking a speaker voiced to you particular amp, Guitar, And type of music you play is the real trick.
Me personally being a Jensen Fan, On any Fender style amp that is 40-80W I use Jensen Neo Speakers. Unlike the Jensen's from years back that were made here in Chicago, I have found it best to use an over rated speaker. This tends to tighten up the bass note which were often very flabby in amp years ago. Back in the old days they tended to use speakers that would JUST survive, More a cost factor than sound.
Now if you looking for more of a British sound, I would avoid Jensen's.
I am sure if you post your playing style, And Type guitar you will get a load of other opinions on your speaker options.

Depends what you want---clean? breakup? more highend? less?
For a basic 15", try the C15N. For cleaner, you could go with the C15K or look at the Weber 15" models (a Cali 15" with a large paper dome sounds pretty good).

Hi Trout,
Thanks for the advice. My playing style ranges from blues to metal so I need something that is flexible. I also play mostly humbucker equiped guitars, lot's of Gibson and gibson style guitars. Not looking for a british sound but something very responsive and tight.
Thanks,
Sam
