I'm thinking of ordering a 60's S type with a big neck, 6100 ss, SSC, Wilky vintage bridge in Salmon pink (fiesta red variation). I'm not sure if I'm going with Brazilian RW? My regular classic has an Indian RW board. I'm not too picky but I'm leaning towards BRW for the vintage aspect?

I would have one on order...if they responded to their emails.

I would have one on order...if they responded to their emails. That's odd. I've emailed Suhr a dozen times and never have waited more than 24 hours for a response.
Try them again, I've found them to be very responsive to email.

Yes, it's probably just a spam filter thing going on. They are very good with emails. I actually pulled a bone head move yesterday......:jo
Ed,
If you see this. When I sent the e-mail yesterday, while rushing to get out of work because of the weather, I think I forgot to actually include my home e-mail? It's joeandmarta "at" comcast dot net. Sorry about that. My cable internet has been in and out with the weather anyway
Also John,
I'm sure you know what I mean by "Salmon Pink" but I'll try to dig up some pics.
Thanks,
Joe

No. Only a Suhr Classic and a five-and-a-half year old boy. I'm willing to make his services available to anyone who needs antiquing done. :)

I placed my Suhr Antique order on Sat. I'm going with Seafoam green, and the V60's with the SSC system. I have the SSC in my Shoreline gold Suhr strat, and I absolutely love it!! I can bring the guitar to any gig, and never have to worry about noise/hum.

Cool. I thought this thread was dead. I know about three weeks ago Ed was sending the neck & body up to J Black for finishing. Ed fowarded some pics from J of a Salmon Pink refin that he did to verify the color since wasn't an official custom color back in the day. I said to make it like that.
My Sonic blue classic has the SSC also. One of the best upgrades you can do to a strat. I recently put some Dimarzio Area's in my Nash strat. While they sound good, they're no V60lp with the SSC. BTW, I did go with Brazilian RW.

I have BRW on my other two classics. The figure in the Brazilian is very cool/beautiful to look at on both guitars. You'll certainly be a happy camper:AOK I'm going to change it up a bit with a maple board on this one. I've recently started getting into the snap/brightness of a maple board. I like it when it's paired up with alder. My maple board Nash and Eric Johnson Strats got me hooked, and appreciative of the sonic capabilites.
Your Salmon Pink is a great color choice. I'm REALLY excited about these guitars. I think they are going to be pretty exceptional. I look forward to having the broken in relic look/feel with modern appointments (like the SSC system) and locking tuners.

Yes, I wanted it to be a not-so-common "custom" color. I went all out on this one with the BRW, jumbo SS frets,SSC, Vintage bridge. I was excited when I ordered my first classic. I'm even more excited knowing what to expect with this one. Hopefully John or Ed will see this & give me an update. I don't want to call & bug them.

I have an Antique in Daphne Blue on order. I haven't been all too conservative since I'll have an ssv bucker by the bridge and a pretty slim neck. I expect it to play and sound beyond good though...or else :MMM :BluesBros
There are no updates at all during the process? Would have been nice to hear or see where it's at a few times.

Great another one in the club! As far as the HB in the bridge and slim neck - that's what so great about Suhr. You can spec it out anyway you want. If you need a HB - order it. Even though I feel a big neck results to a beefier tone I just need a big neck because of my hands. Believe me I'd love to be able to get along with thinner necks. It would give me greater off the shelf choices.
As far as updates, I don't believe they give updates. It would be too time consuming for them. They usually just give the initial lead time. The only reason I knew was because they wanted to confirm the color since it's not a common color. Ed just mentioned that they already had the body & neck cut, shaped and ready to be painted.

My dealer estimates that these babies will start to ship early summer (at least that's the anticipated lead time for mine) I'm not much for updates. Once I place my order, I'm done. I just sit back, and let them work their mojo.:D
Just emailed Suhr today about one of these. This will be the 4th Suhr I've owned, but the first I've ever custom ordered. I love the look of the blonde Tele that was at Namm 2007

What an amazing guitar. It felt and sounded like a classic old Tele, played great and looked like a million bucks. Great guitar. I'm continually impressed with John Suhr's guitars - every one I've ever picked up I'd be happy, hell, I'd be thrilled to own and play.
You guys are lucky.

This is it. I basically want this guitar, but with a humbucker in the neck.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/dsw67/NAMM-07-1201.jpgHey Dana -
There are some real interesting pickup choices for that. Mini - HB? P-94? Maybe even a P-90 or Z-90 ....
Brent Mason does the Mini HB, but his is a Nashville Tele (Duh!) with a middle pickup too.
You're gonna wind up with a really good guitar - you're stoked!

Hey Dana O,
I ended up going with a full sized chrome humbucker. I'm a big Mike Stern fan so I wanted a tele similar to his old blonde one. I need a guitar that will give me warm clean jazz tones but still have the ability to kick it for rock and funk gigs. Finalized the order today. Now all I need to do is sit back and wait. If I'm lucky I'll be playing it around July.

I bet it'll sound and play great. Every Suhr Tele I've played was unique and fantastic in tone, playability, and looks.
You'll be stoked! Plus, it'll make you play like Mike (GRIN).

Just found out today that my Antique classic is fiished. I should have it Friday if all goes well. When I contacted Ed about another matter he asked if I wanted to change my order include the new Fletcher/Landau pickups. Of course I said Yes! My regular classic already has the V60LP's so I figured this would be a good change.Pics & a report will follow over the weekend if it arrives a scheduled.

I picked up my Antique Classic in Seafoam Green this past Sat. I own several other Suhr Classics, but I have to say, this one is simply above and beyond. The relicin'g is very light. It truly looks like an old guitar that was gently used/taken care of. It's as light as a feather, and plays wonderfully. Rings like a bell. The silent single coil system is an added bonus. I'll post pics when I get a chance to snap some. I'm not good at describing what makes a guitar unique or different. As a player, I find that I will pick up the instrument, play it, and it either has that certain mojo, or it doesn't. There is something special about this one for sure!:)
Mine's due to arrive Thursday. I can't wait!

We have 2 in the pipeline, a classic ssc in shell pink (mild antique) and a double bound sunburst T with a neck HB and maple neck(medium antique).
The pics of the antiques that have shipped so far are amazing, way better than what the big companies are doing. Both guitars are eagerly anticipated by several customers but no commitments as of yet.
