I purchased a Sequis Richter attenuator which is rated for 8 ohms and I have 2 4x12" cabs that are both 16 ohms. My question is this - can I use the Richter safely? If so, should I set the amp on 8 or 16 ohms? I am spoiled by having an Ultimate attenuator (where ohms are not important) already, and I forgot to check before I bought the Sequis.

PS I have tried to contact Sequis without success.

Set the amp to 8 ohms to match the Richter. Plug your cabs into the Richter (I assume it has parallel speaker outputs).....................and rock out!

That setup gives you 8 ohms from the amp to the speakers - good to go.

Do the cabs have two jacks-one for "daisy chaining"? If so plug one cab into the other and one into the attenuator. If not make a parallel Y speaker cable.
