I was wondering if any of the forum experts could chime in with some suggested plate/cathode values for a 1 triode 12TA7 recovery amp gain stage. I can have anywhere from 320v to 380v on the plate supply. It is at 350v currently. Right now all is good and I have a 100k plate and 1.5k cathode resistor. But, this is probably not optimal for the AT7. What do you think about lowering the plate resistor to a 47k? Better since the internal plate resistance is 11K?? What about target cathode voltage? Maybe 5v is the loadline ballpark??
ANy help is appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd have to break out data books, etc to do this.

Hi Mike!
I am using the 12AT7 for a 1 tube reverb design. 1/2 triode to drive the tank and 1/2 to recover. I like this a lot more than a 12ax7. The reverb is much more natural. Just looking for some suggested values as I have the 12AX7 vlaues on the recovery stage now. Sounds decent and I have enough gain to recover. But, maybe it could be a lot better.
Thanks!

Scott - long time, bud!
Take a look at the effects loop schem I sent you a long time ago. A 12AT7 is the recommended tube for that loop, so the recovery amp on that would be very similar to what you're looking for.
