Question here:

Since nobody seems to ever run the bass on a blackface amp past 3 or 4, is there any negative consequences to installing a 100k pot in place of the stock 250k?

Same thing applies on the reverb pot, Instead of using the stock 100k, could a 50K be used to get more adjustability? I never (ever) turn the reverb past 4ish on my amps. And it seems as though there is a gulf of difference between 2 and 3 on the dial.

Would the smaller value pots give a greater range of adjustibility within thier value range? ie, slower action?

Since the pots function as variable resistors, does this mess with the tonestack values at all??? Or is this an area of tweakability to taste.

Help me out here folks, I am not a EE type...just a Mr fixit(wreck it);) with a weller!

Thanks, Brent.

Get the Duncan 'Tone Stack Calculator' and check out the effect for yourself...http://tdsl.duncanamps.com

I use the Bass on my twin usually set about 7, sure you can change, your settings will be different it but I don't think it's worth the trouble.
