I just bought a used Cub 11 R and it made a couple of "scratchy" sounds along with the actual note then it totally went dead. I know I will need a tech but I'm curious if anyone has a educated guess? Fuse seems ok. Thanks

Take it from me, it didn't croak. In my earlier days I sold many a good amp b/c I though it had issues. The bad cat is a quality amp. It's probably something really stupid and minor.
My quick guess, see if the rectifier tube crapped out.

I dunno. I had my Chieftain blow an output transformer...
Matchless SWORE up and down that it couldn't be the tranny, but Mark Norwine proved otherwise to them.
We got a replacement tranny from them, and it's been fine ever since.

Could be the tube, I'm thinking more of a Grid Resistor. You'll probably need a tech to check it out to be sure.

Thanks guys, this was my first major TGP purchase and I knew there is always a risk shipping a tube amp, but it sure sounded good for that hour it worked! I had planned on having someone go through it anyways, just not so soon.
