Does anyone know why JC120s have a slight speaker hiss at all times, and if there's a cure? I hear it's bad transistors in the modern versions, and the vintage models don't suffer from this?

I've no idea on the date of my JC120, as I bought it in great condition for a song at a pawn store - but it's not one of the very new ones as it has the metal vibrato/chorus switch. I don't know what date they started using a plastic knob for this, anyone know?

Is it really obnoxious? Unless you plan to record with it, I wouldn't worry about it. You won't hear while you're playing.

Sounds pretty typical to me.
