Hellooloololo...I am from Wales although I am not Welsh.
Not that that makes any difference...
I have 20 years' playing experience...but after a major hoo hah with eBay, I chanced upon d'pergo and have never looked back. d'pergo guitars are the most beautifully constructed, angelic guitars ever... IN my opinion...
I am feeling rather rather isolated here in Wales, so I would love to hear frm other d'pergo fans...

Oh, and you should post a pic of your D'Pergo. We love discussing D'Pergo around here, you know...
...and you should quit before you get suspended - there's no reason to derail jaime1's thread.

Man!! I can't believe you guys think that $6K is expensive for guitars of this quality!! In the UK that would be CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!! You don't know how lucky you are!

Hi Jamie, and welcome! I remember your hoo hah with eBay. After learning of your fiasco, I sold you one of my D'Pergo's, knowing it would help heal the wound.

This has GOT to be bogus.

rwe333, what's your problem.
With your behavior in recent D-Pergo threads you actually need to ask?
Just playing defense, c'est tout.
(FWIW, I don't have any vested interest in D'Pergo. Respect the company and some of their guitar owners, for sure)

Hey Jamie... What kind of pickups do you have in your D'Pergo? Were they wound by Stefan or someone else? Yes, let's see some pics.
I recently got my custom Macro from Roger Giffin (a transplanted Englishman living in Oregon) and the quality is so superior to my other high end guitars, that I have a sense of how the D'Pergos must be compared to other guitars.
I'm dying to try one, and found someone in my area. I should be able to check it out in a few weeks.

Hey Jamie!!
I share your enthusiasm with the D'Pergos. I haven't picked up another electric since.....I still can't get over how exceptional this instrument is. It will be interesting to watch for the responses of others as they get a chance to play one.
Is yours a classic or a Bakersfield?

Was in Wales just last month. The kids climbed all around Conwy Castle, and we had fish&chips at a haunted restaurant. I didn't see a single guitar the whole 4 hours I was there, I so I am indeed suspicious of this thread. But I don't doubt D'Pergos are fabulous guitars...

Thanks for the welcome..it's quite a weird (and long) story as to how i got my D'Pergo..i'm going to post some pics tonight let me know what you think. I did have an Anderson Cobra, a Les Paul Custom, an Ilbanez blue Floral jem, and a Fender strat...but i sold all of them! the D'pergo (in my opinion) is by far the best guitar i've owned and played in over 20yrs. The tone and build is shockingly good.

All I wanted, Tafkar, was to be able to communicate with other D'Pergo players so we could just all go "Yeah. Nice guitar!" and talk about them as people who know the instrument.
I am sorry if I ofended anyone by not observing GP Thread-starting protocol, but it seems as well as committing what seems to be the mortal sin of having fewer than 50 posts (or whatever your magic number was...!) I jumped straight into a very sensitive subject.
I just wanted to hook up with like minded guitarists. Sorry if that sounds petulant... but I'm a bit put off.
Which, having read through this whole furore again tonight, seems to have been the intention.
Sorry.

Jamie - welcome to TGP. Looking forward to seeing your pics!
For me, in addition to the "whole package" that is the D'Pergo guitar, the thing that sends me over the top about it is the neck. The vintage offset neck is FAT and has such a thin layer of nitro on it that it almost feels unfinished - smooth, almost like someone took talcum powder and sprinkled it on the back of the neck.
This neck was fretted with custom "wide/low" frets, at Stefan's recommendation. My fingers are used to the tried and true 6150's, but this setup allows me to lighten my touch even more, while still retaining note clarity.
The other immediate thing that sticks out to me is the guitar's lower register resonance. With your hand on the neck, then hitting, say an open A, you can feel the vibration in your fretting hand shoulder - pretty amazing.
Stefan is a great guy and is extremely passionate about his work.
Frankly, although I find it interesting, I couldn't really care too much about Stefan's building methods, nor could I comment on them... I'm no luthier. It is the end result that matters. I'm sure, then, that you are able to see through some of the negativity that rears its ugly head occasionally - albeit being "opinion", it has to have some logical foundation to give it clout. Please take all of it with a grain of salt.
And, that having been said, all I know is that the end result has spoken to me, and I in turn try to humbly make it speak.
Bring on those pics, friend!:dude

Scott a simple fix is look at his IP address
That will tell you where it is from.
Put IP Address into this traceroute program
http://www.net.princeton.edu/traceroute.html
The last lines of output is where it came from.
Although you probably already know that as a mod.
No pic needed. Although I love seeing good pics of beautiful guitars
PM sent
Thanks
Mike
