I am very proud to announce the Philip Sayce Signature amp.
Last fall Philip contacted me and that led to this amp that I custom built especially for him,
I came up with a totally new unique design for him and built it in one of the older Mystic Mother chassies,
when he got it Philip was raving and was very pleased and said to me that he had been looking for this sound for over ten years, and that this amp (called "IRMA" ) is now his new main amp and he uses it on all his main gigs and sessions since he got it, and man he really is such a sweet guy !!!
well, so no one could be happier than me! :)
This amp circuit will now be avalible as custom order in limited numbers, it will come in a JTM 45 style head-cab, custom alloy chassie,
the amp is a single channel 2x 6550 70w amp big fat clean/lead tone machine,
,how does it sound ?
hmm well,,,SRV type tone custom tweaked for Philip ,kind of :)
no pix or clips yet but listen to Philps new CD "Silver wheel of stars" it is all over it,
and check out Philips myspace site for latest updates and some clips from the new album.

Check out "Let the love in" ,,what a great song !!
It will take some more time before I have more info on my website on this new amp,
also, I only have time to build a few amps per years and all are basically custom order only
so please e-mail me and let me know if you might be intersted in my work

Thanks for your time,

Hi,
yes he sure is a kick ass player !!
Dave, to answer your question,
no Peace machine album is the Diaz modded Super, Fuchs, Savage and Germino amps for different applications,
hope that helps
Since he got my amp last fall (2006) he now uses the Cougar amp as main amp,
I also built him a special splitter box for using 4 amps at once in parralell when he uses the Diaz Super or Germino along with the Cougar amp.

I need to SEE, as well as hear him use this amp. Endorsements are funny things. Its hard to think that him, living in LA, and being on fairly mainstream stages with big artists, that he would endorse a small, virtually unheard of amp co, made in small #'s, from a country known more for its Vikings, than its tone generators. I need more conclusive proof.

I've had the same experience with Phil....gave me a full run down of his gear, especially with respect to Peace Machine. Super nice guy...love his tone which Tommy C helps create along with Phil's fingers.
Thanks guys!!!

okay heres the thing about that, even though hes backing up one of the best female singer/songwriters of our time, i'm preatty sure hes only concerned about tone not the name on the amp, this guy is as big of a boutique/vintage nut as anyone lol.

Thats cool an all, but there is so much heresay about what gear he is using. There is another thread going on right now in which he is supposedly using a Carr, and a Germino fer gawdsakes. The only constant is the Super.
I dig the hell outta the guy, and I'm jazzed especially cuz he is a fellow Canadian!!! I'd just like to know fer sure what he is using for amps to get that smokin' tone. It can be done with just a Super and the right pedals tho guys.

true enough it can be done with a super.
"Hi Greg,
Right now I am using the Mother amp all the time, and it is my fav. I love Fuchs amps too-both are phenomenal. Mother has the best clean sound I have ever heard from any Fender style amp period. Very BIG sounding. Designed to go with EV's. Very 3d and open sounding. Very clean. A very special sounding amplifier. "

He had killer tone that night. He was doing an Albert Collins 'too much reverb' thing with the super and that amp was smoking through that 4x12.
Nice amp!! :RoCkIn

Ahh great playing and amazing tone from Philip :drool . Maybe I need a new amp in my collection of Cougars  . It's about time the Cougar amps gets some attention, all I have tried are among my top ten amps EVER (together with Komet, Adam Stark Fire Amp).
Good Luck Tommy, looking forward to try a Sayce Sig :BEER

Having loved Peace Machine, I couldn't wait for Silver Wheel of Stars to be released here....so ordered the Japan import from cduniverse.com
It rocks.
I really hope he hits the northeast when he tours.

Coco Tone, Philip is using Irma exclusively as his main amp these days and is very happy with it.
I realize that endorsements can be funny at times, but he really loves this amp.

VERY impressive , this beast sounds Wonderful...It sounds alive for gods sake !!! Looking forward to more info and /or updates from owners ...I "get" the endorsement thing ..IT SUCKS , a marketing GOLDMINE ...How many amps have been sold to people (like me ) only to find out that THAT tone isnt in the stock amp at all!!! I will take a back seat to watch how this one plays out ... Hey Anders I will tell you I agree 100% about the Adam Stark Fire Amp ...I own #8 the ONLY one in a brown / oxblood tolex ....Another amp I own that would DEFINITLY make my top ten is my Jim Kelley FACS 30/60 2 channel head w/verb...I keep watching this ine ...It does sound Great ....D.P.:munch

Where did you get this clip from? I'm curious because it is such excellent high quality. Most of the YouTube Sayce clips out there are of such poor quality.

I got the clip from Philip ,, last year I think it was? cant remember exactly
I dont know exactly where he got it from though ?
he also recently told me he was gearing up for the Melissa 2008 tour and he was planning to use " Mother Irma" on the tour together with the Super reverb,
he usually always has it on stage as long as tour logistics allows it,
and sometimes he uses rented or house gear for convenience,
mostly fenders, but other stuff too
I also want to point out that Philip bought his Mystic Mother amp used
( not from me ) and then he sent it to me with some ideas and that is how this model become what it is , I basically rebuilt the amp with some cool ideas I had that I knew would suit his style of playing, he also said he tried a couple new other brand amps recently but always come back to Mother Irma,
Philip also just talked to me about getting one more of this model, since he want two of these, and he said these two together with the Super and a Vibratone he thought that would be really perfect,
I am very proud he really likes my amp, is that ok with you guys ? :)
