I'm asking for my buddy/bandmate.
He is looking for a new setup for his other band.

He was looking at the Carvin heads and cabs.
Don't know model numbers but thought I would do him a solid and check around here for any basic input.
It would be new models. Not used stuff.
Thanks!

I know nothing about the new models, but I've been using the same Pro Bass 500 for close to 9 years without a single issue.

Thier stuff is soild. I'm looking into thier new Neo stuff. Real great price for all the power and features. Check out thier web site and/or requst a catoluge. Great stuff on paper, but haven't had the pleasure of trying it yet.

nearly all of carvin's stuff is great (except their new made in korea acoustics), but their bass amps and basses are really what have earned them their reputation.

you mentioned it'd all be new stuff, but i'd suggest taking a look at used stuff too. despite Carvin's great reputation, they generally don't have very good resale value - that's great if you're a buyer looking for good gear on a budget... it sucks if you're a seller looking to unload some stuff.

I played a Carvin combo a few years back that left me pretty impressed- I think it was called a Cyclops. It might not have been called that...
