I don't know how this happened, but I got away from using the pointy end of the pick.
Can't say why I like the rounded end more, but I find it more comfortable.
Anybody else?

Yup! I do that, too, and I've gained some picking hand ability with it. I can strum more accurately. I will not give up a heavy pick, so the fat side is the way to go. Pinch harmonics are easier to grab, too.

I agree, I find them easier, too. Esp with the Tele and the Super.

Yeah, Henderson got it from Landau. Ford also does this.
I move it around for different needs.

...I use the flat-edge of a large triangular (#346) picks against the strings to get a dry, almost acoustic, sound...by holding the pick at a 45-degree angle to the string(s) when I pick.

Yep, have for years. Seems to work well with pick and fingers - excellent for chickin pickin -

I started doing that about 5 years back...
Now feel out of control whenever I try to use the sharp end...

SRV did it his whole career.
Landau doesn't do it all the time though.

I used the round edge for 23 years.
I recently switched to the Freakishly Large V-Picks. The pointiness of the corners is midway between that of the point and round edge of a standard pick - very comfortable.

I do. I find it helps soften my pick attack and makes the notes sound a bit fuller.

Yes, the round edge has a softer attack.
I flip the pick between soft/hard.
Also have ways of holding the pick when not in use.
And then hybrid things. pick/finger.
John Abercrombie gave up the pick
all together.
