I have lusted after on of these for a LONG LONG time and last December found a used one at a Guitar Center where I knew a salesman. My wife surprised me last week by paying off the balance as I had put it on layaway and paid a hundred or so each month. Great playing and sounding bass!!!

Cograts on the new bass! I have fretless thumb 4 and I love the fit and feel (now if I was only better at fretless...).
Enjoy it in good health!

Forgot to add that I got it for $850. It's a bolt-on, but the quality is superb!! I actually noticed a little fretwear on those brass frets. Oh well... Love those pickups too!!

Killer bass, my only gripe is that it's neck heavy but not too bad.

I love the bolt-on Thumbs. Ovangkol body?

This is kind of, off topic but what is a fair price for an Almond Sunburst Warwick Streamer LX 5 (bolt on) in excellent condition, hardly played actually?

You guys seem to be in the Warwick circles so I thought you might know better than most.

I'm trying to sell one and I'm not getting a lot of bites.

I've noticed that Warwicks current Streamer offerings are all $2500+. My wife paid a bit more than that in 2003 for mine, so I'm trying to get about 1/2 that. Am I being greedy?

It's a nice bass I figured they would hold their value well...

My Thumb bass IS indeed an Ovangkol body. Not sure about the price of a Streamer. Check ebay and see what they have gone for.

Very sweet score! The bassplayer in the band I do a lot of work for uses that bass as his main axe.

I agree with the Thumbs being a bit neck heavy (still love mine though)

As for the used Streamer question:

The Warwick bolt-ons don't fetch nearly what their neck-though counterparts do. After doing a bit of investigating, I think that a piece great condition like yours should be able to get you about $1000 (+/-)

They are great basses, and, unfortunately for you, a great value used... (I picked up my thumb used)

Hope the sale goes well!

Cheers,

Edward

Thor, Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I was beginning to think I was asking too much but I guess not way too much. $1300 shipped, I'm going to take the price down.

I was hoping to get more so now I'm actually tempted not to sell, but the money has already been spent. Darn GAS...
