Hey guys,
This is a director's rough cut of a music video that my band just completed filming a few weeks ago. I take a solo at the beginning and again at the middle of the song. Fender Strat-->Keeley BD-2-->Keeley TS808-->Reverend Kingsnake (NOS RCA 5751 in first gain stage). I used an SM57 to mic the front of the cab, a Shure kick drum mic for the rear, and a pencil condenser at the end of a 25 foot hallway for the room noise. We did not add any compressors to the 2 guitars, so you will notice some ups and downs in volume. I'm not using any virtuoso skills in this song...just concentrating more on vibe/feel. Comments/critiques welcomed...thanks :dude

Like the clean guitar sound. Good job on the 2, leaving ample space for each to work within each other. Just personal preference, but if I WAS going to use compression on the guitars, it would be for vibe, not volume control. THe guitars really define their moments with the volume flucuations/dynamics.

Like the song:AOK

thanks for the insight and I appreciate the compliments. I may post some more complex stuff at a later date, but for now I'll just leave this sucker up to see what people say. I really love SRV, Robert Cray, and D. Gatton, so I'm hardly ever flying all over the neck to see how fast I can play scales, but if I ever get a good live recording from one of our gigs I'll post it for sure. Right now Im trying to work on all of those crazy bending techniques that Brad Paisley and Robert Cray use. I love leaving space to let notes "sing"

I like the song, the drums, the guitar. I really liked your clean solo tone; I can never get that clean even if I try (which I don't try too hard).

The only critique I have is not of you, it's the singer. It understand it's a mellower song and you don't want to spew all over the place, but his delivery is just a little too laid back for me. It was just a'ight for me, dog. I love your guitar though.
