I have them in two Moses/Warmoth parts J basses, one fretted & one fretless. They sound great with zero hum. But since I've never heard them in a bass with a wood neck, I can't compare them to other J pickups. I am considering installing a pair in my Fender Vintage-series Jazz to eliminate the hum.

CHUCK, thank's for the sound clips!! They are a great help! Sounds solid fat and rounded..I greatly appriceate your response!!.If there is anybody out there with dimarzio ultra jazz pups with clips of slapping & upper register finger techniqe with both pickups and just the bridge pickup & nickel wounds..that would be much appriceated!!! Chuck maybe you could help me out? Once again thank you for the clips you sent me!!! Either way I'll talk to you soon!!! thanx again .......ADAM.

they're pretty much the most modern sounding "passive" pickups i've ever used. marcus miller in a passive setup. fingerstyle is ok, but slapping is awesome! even w/ my nickel sadowsky strings, the midrange is very steely with a hifi razor high top end and big billowing lower end. it all sounds like the pickups are running thru an active preamp. if you like a vintage, old school sound, these ARE NOT your pickups.

HI

Its pretty close to the humcancelling pickup that comes standard in all Sadowsky basses. A bit scooped in the mids, dead quiet. I love them
