Frettless bass players!

What are your favorite flatwound strings for 4 string bass & why.

I'm a roundwound fretless guy - I need the growl and you ain't gonna get it with flats or even half-rounds (do they still make them?). That said, I love Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats on my P-Bass.

Two reason (that I know of) to play a fretless bass:
1)to sound like Jaco=Rotosound round wounds
2)to sound (sort of) like an upright=flat or tape wounds

I've had great luck with the D'addario chromes. They sound great on my fretless jazz bass.

I use an Infeld 5-string set but I don't use the G string on my fretless jazz. How much wear do you guys get with the round wounds on a regular rosewood fretboard that isn't heavily coated?
