Purly personal opinion. A good Pine cab. They breathe and feel "alive", lots of harmonics and overtones. You really don`t need reverb with them. My birch ply cabs sound dead to my ear. I can see that for some applications the ply would be more desireable. Good Luck!

Splawn cabs are great for cab made to order, he makes a quality product at a great price to your exact specs. They are my favorite of all the ones I carry, and also like them better than mesa and marshall. No experience w/ orange cabs or bogner, but I hear great things about them too!

Based on what I've heard:

Bruno, Tone Tubby, Mill acoustics, Orange, Marshall, Diezel, etc...

I don't know about what's the best but my Bogners sound great and that's all I care about.

I´m very impressed by the Framus cabs, seeing how affordable they are new. If we add tone for the buck to the equation they´re a top contender in my book.

Hmm, the best? Almost pointless question, because than you should look for best guitar, best amp, best cable, best wife… :dude The beauty of diversity.
BTW, you should be more specific, there are a lot of variables for achieving desired final goal; open/closed back, choice of cabinet material, nr. of drivers…

Don't think there is a best of anything when it comes to the unquantifiable tone...but for me, I always seem to enjoy my old Marshall 4x12 cab. Its a mid-90's cab (1960BV) and has some scuffs, battle scars, beer rings, the casters don't work very well etc. I replaced the original MDF back with a 13 ply birch...I keep it loaded with 2 Heritage G12H30's and 2 Vintage 30's in an X pattern and it just rocks...its my favorite cab which I guess makes it the best cab for me.

My guitar/amp tech always raves about the build quality and tone of my JDesign Cab.

I like my Z 2x12 cab:-)

Those are even called "Best" cabs, so there's your answer.

"Best" really depends on the application.

If the application is a lightweight open back cab with great sound dispersion and wide frequency response, I'll vote for the cabs made by Mark Bartel at Tone King. I have a 1x12 40 watt Meteor II combo that sounds as big as many 2x12 cabs I've played.

My vote goes for my Dr. Z 212 open back(not the Z best)
I have been through lots of cabs. Bogner Vox Marshall mojo avatar etc.
What I like about the Z is that it has a balanced eq curve. Very natural like the sound that comes out of your guitar unplugged.
Many of the others I have tried have exaggerated lows, scooped mids, or spikey highs that just weren't natural and also have a harder time mixing in a band context.
