Hmm, too bad they didn't keep the volume roller thingy as that's one of the most practical features of the V2 IMO. Maybe it'll have a jack for an exp pedal? Or maybe I'm just misinterpreting the graphics (wouldn't be surprising :D). Still, looks pretty nice thus far with some great features & I'm def amped to see the final product.

I am definitely excited about this unit. I plotted it out on a pedal board plan, so I am glad I got the size close. It will be a wait, Mike told me this week, about Nov, best guess. I am sure he is stressed, he said he was tired of giving out predictions on release. Eitherway, it looks killer.

I'd be very interested in of of these. But what does if offer that my RC-20XL doesn't already give me?
My main criteria is pristine reproduction of the source signal and the least noise, this would mean the highest quality converters. True bypass would be good. User friendliness I also value.

Well, most likely, it will be more user friendly. It will also give you more control of feedback. Mike did a great job with his previous Boomerangs, and unlike Boss, actually researched how people who loop for a living actually use these things. I doubt you could get true bypass- you would hear too much of a change between the 'loop' and the live playing- both should sound exactly the same. You can get true bypass with a mixer though....I use one with my Echoplex Digital Pro and it works great.

I've had several different loopers and have stuck with the Boomerang Plus. I might be interested in the new incarnation, but I've been very happy with the one I have. Sure, I wish it was smaller, but I've learned to set it in front of my pedal board and just get used to it. OTOH, I don't use many pedals, so I have a pretty small board...
I agree the volume roller was a very cool feature. I like to record a loop and roll the volume back just a hair so my live playing is a little louder. I guess it's cool to use a volume pedal to do this, but I like having the option built in.

Agreed! I will miss the volume roller - that being said, when the 'rang 3 is available, i'll sell my Rc-20XL in favor of one! I've used a bunch of different loopers and the Boomerang is the one I wish I still had!

"Assign Bonus"?
That's off a pinball machine, surely. :)

This is the most exciting release of the year, me thinks.
I've got a v1 Boomerang, and it gets a lot of use. To think of the additional features on this version - it makes me woozy inside!

Is there already a waiting list for them?

In the email from Mike, he made no mention of it. I would definitely get on a waiting list. I am not sure that is their biz model, but count me in.

Immediate access (dedicated foot switches or jacks for added pedals) to Half Speed (pitch up and down) and Reverse is a musst.
Maybe I can't read but I don't see it.

Sounds like a nice looper then! The RC-20XL is working fine for now and should get me through until the Boomerang 3 comes out. Thanks

"Thanks for your inquiry. We will be releasing an effects pedal at the
summer NAMM show and
following that with a new looper in Oct-Nov 06. The looper will have
true stereo recording, vastly improved audio specs, long record time, 6
loops, multi level undo/redo, multiple loops can play synched or
unsynched, and a slew of "utility" features such as an octave down
effect for creating bass parts, auto fade out, metronome, etc. It will
be roughly half the size of the Rang(TM) Plus!
.
We appreciate your enthusiasm,
Lynne @ BMP"
i though i read somewhere that there was reverse function but i guess it wasnt in my correspondence. the older version has it, correct?

I have the older version Rang and it has a dedicated Reverse footswitch.
You can record one layer forward, next layer in reverse etc without stopping the process.
There's also a dedicated switch for Half speed (octave up or down) but to record various speeds into the same loop you actually have to move through the Stop button. Not as seemless as the Reverse, still a creative must for me.
I have Manecoloopers and Gibson Echoplexes with dedicated Half speed and Reverse foot switches though.
