I'm looking at the schematic and can't figure it out. I need to replace a .1uF 400v cap in my amp and the amp doesn't require polarity for this piece (can be placed either way) I have an auricap capacitor and one lead is black while the other is red, can I place it just any way or is there a + - way to mount it.

wow - gettin' all hi-fi on us! too rich for my (cheap) blood, but they sure look purty...

there's supposed to be some logic to orienting for impedance, I think somebody just posted something the other day about it... aiken has a note about it too... http://www.aikenamps.com/OutsideFoil.htm

but to your problem, auricap also seems to have the specific hook up instructions for the red/black code... http://www.audience-av.com/capacitors/a_applications.php

So where would I install the black lead for this cap? (see picture) at the top (where the pots are) or at the bottom (where the tubes are)

...the POSITIVE (+) end of a capacitor goes to the "highest" potential (voltage) source and the NEGATIVE (-) end toward the "lowest" potential (lower voltage or ground).

...so, if RED = POSITIVE (+), then it goes toward pin 6 of the 7025, since it connects to +300Vdc through the 100K ohm plate resistor, while the other end (BLK) serially connects to ground through the TREMOLO intensity control...you gotta "trace" the paths using the schematic.
