Hi, hope somebody can help me with my problem here. Today when i switched on my English Muff'n, suddenly the volume drops. I can barely hear anything except when I maxed out the volume and gain, then only I can hear the guitar. I can confirm that the problem comes from the Muff'n as the volume drops only when I turn on the Muff'n.

So the first thing I do is check the tubes, I realized that one of the tubes (the one under the HIGH control), only one terminal is fully lit, as the other tube both of the terminals are lit (sorry for my technical terms, I'm no techie :messedup). Is it because one of the tubes is broken?

Can anybody suggest what should I do? I've sent an email to EHX but still no reply, I do hope this is just a simple matter of changing the tube.

Yeah, I'd try putting a different tube in that slot.

Same thing happened to me about a week ago. Low volume, low gain. It seems like only one tube is working. I tried new tubes, but no improvement. I took it apart and checked the tube sockets for tension. I haven' t confirmed the exact cause, but one of the heater pin sockets is extremely loose. I'm trying to find a replacement for the socket. So far no luck.

New tubes are on their way, gonna test the pedal again soon. Really hope my problem is not as serious! and hope you can find a way to repair yours!

I'll get back to you later

Arrrgh! I swapped the tubes but still no improvement! Maybe I'll try to open it up tonight...

FleaRadical, how's your pedal?

Btw, can I send it for repair? I'm in the UK.. Crap this is my most expensive pedal and now it's not working! :(

Haven't had time to swap the tube socket or do any further troubleshooting. I use a Maxon ROD as a backup, so I haven't been hard-pressed to fix it. You might take it to an amp tech to do a quick check of the tension in the pin sockets. So far that seems like the most likely culprit in mine.

I haven't had any problems with mine, but I've had a few other EH issues. They're alot better with the phone than the e-mail. I guess that's an expensive call to risk being put on hold. look up authorized repair stations near you.
