Uh, I'll need those back... with the Scumbag labels intact, too. Just ship them out to me, don't make a scene, they're for the museum. Can you get them ready to shop back tomorrow? I'll send Fedex by to pick them up. ;)

Umm...sure, but it will cost you a couple loaded 4X12 cabs. :crazyguy

Hmm, I guess it would be just as easy (and cheaper) to reissue the Scumbag label, huh? :)

Here's a pic for ya Jim!

Maybe that's how I should advertise the cab. FS: Marshall 1960A loaded with an H75/H55 mix with original Scumbag labels. Maybe that will get it sold. :AOK

Me confused.....so are Scumbacks clones of Scumbags or something?

Seems Mr. Scumbag might be a little miffed about this.

Nope. They were Scumbag speakers to start with, then I changed the speaker name to Scumback, a combination of Scumbag and Greenback, suggested by a friend.

I thought this thread was about the Warehouse Speakers Celestion clones.

I just ordered a couple of the Veteran 30's to check out. I may order a pair of the Green Berets as well. I am reloading a 1960a cab and I already have a pair of WGS Classic/British Leads in it. I have another 2x12 cab with V30's and when I run them together they sound awesome so I figure I would give it a shot. :)

I wasn't all that stoked on the quad of Classic Leads I got and stuck in my Orange 4x12" for a while. But now that they've gotten broken in with several high-volume band practices, they are starting to sound GREAT. I'm definitely planning to pick up some Green Berets for a different cab in the near future.

I got a well used pair of Veteran 30's in an smallish open back cab. They sound wonderful with clean tones! I'm missing the tightness of the bottom end on dirty tones, but for clean, they make me quite happy. :P

That's cool. I still haven't heard any really good review of the Green Beret though.

I'm still breaking mine in...if you read through the thread, you'll see people seem really happy with most of the WGS speakers after a hard break in.

Mine are getting there, and do sound better, but I'm finding that I need to get the right amp pushing them before I like them. Right now, that's Strat with CS-69s, 18watt TMB, Green Beret in open back 2X12. It has a mid-bump somewhere that just accentuates the quack that really makes this sound like a Strat through a Marshall. I certainly didn't get that feeling when the speakers were new, so I know they are changing somewhat.

Raven, I have a new speaker design based on the Veteran 30 that will give you the tighter bottom end on dirty tones. I'm going to call it the "Retro 30(TM)" speaker. This model lowers & tightens the bottom end AND adds articulation on the dirty channel. Its a bit like giving the Veteran 30 some liposuction and botox treatment. :crazy It should be available in 2 - 3 weeks.

As with all speakers, you can't have 1 speaker that does everything. You give up some of the smoothness on the clean channel. Its not a bad trade-off for a player who spends more time playing dirty than clean.

Thanks for responding, David! Nice to see you here!

Man, if I wasn't shopping for a house right now, I'd be putting in a pre-order! That Retro 30 sounds perfect!

I dropped a pair of Green Beret's in my THD cab a week ago, these speakers rock with the best of them! At $45 per, they're quite a value.

I'm thrilled James Peters loves the warehouses --- I've had a Jp-10 for several years and was using a Marshall 2X12 with GT-65's (from 1985 thin and spikey). I started a search for something less LOUD with better low end. The sound of this 10watter always turns heads.

But this week, I auditioned a Peter Mather 1X12 ported cab w/ a green beret --WOW- I now know why James recommended a greenback when I got the head--now with this cab/speaker, the volume is perfect, the amazing increase of low end and warmth from this speaker cab has enabled me to really use the JP-10's EQ in 'normal ranges'. With the marshall cab - I boosted every bit of lo end I could get, cut the highs to deal w/ the thinness/harshness of the cab.

Now this green beret breaks up beautifully and even my gain setting is lower - It's like I giving this amp its true voice (or am now ABLE to find it)-----Thanks JAMES----Thanks PETER.

It wouldn't surprise me if WGS become highly respected speakers in due time.

It's funny how many people got all "well why don't I just buy a celestion" when people really started getting excited about WGS products. Some people have such closed minds....

WGS are really nice speakers IMO.
