Good pedal-based preamp (non-digital) for going direct?

What are some good (non-digital) pedal-based preamps for going direct? I've tried the Koch Pedaltone, and I know that one is pretty nice. There is also the Mesa V-Twin, which I haven't tried yet, as well as all of the Sansamp types.

What are some of the best sounding, and most amp-like pedal type preamps that you guys have used for going direct (and using with a pedal based rig)?

Award-Session AD-10 is a nice pedal that can be used direct to the board or a PA (or as a ordinary dirt box). I have used it a few times when recording and also as a back up when my amp has died during gigs. It can be set for anythin from clean to metal and sounds good. I think pedal-geek sells them in the States.

My favorite is the original Hughes & Kettner Tubeman. I have used it in the studio and live and I always get excellent results. I have been looking for a rackmount "Plus" version for a while now. I have an "Attax" preamp but's it's not the same.
